Recruiting update: Isaiah Briscoe to now decide in the fall? Plus Tanksley Efianayi's new official visit

Isaiah Briscoe to make his decision in the fall.

Maddie Meyer

After a long summer of recruiting, college coaches can start to focus on the upcoming season. With less than two weeks to Midnight Madness, Steve Lavin and the Red Storm want to make a statement in the Big East this year.

However,Steve Lavin also needs to prepare for the future. St. John's remains active on many recruiting fronts.

Isaiah Briscoe (G, 2015)

Isaiah Briscoe is probably the most talked about player in the class of 2015 for St. John's.

Once thought to be staying on the east coast, Briscoe recently opened up his recruiting. After visiting Kentucky, UConn, Rutgers, and Seton Hall, the New Jersey guard appears to be closer to making his much anticipated decision. Briscoe told SNY.tv that he plans on deciding soon, a total 180 from the original reports that said he would decide in the spring.

The talented guard still plans to attend St. John's Midnight Madness on October 17th meaning that his decision probably will not come until the end of the month.

Many people now believe that Kentucky is the frontrunner in the race for Briscoe.

But despite the Wildcats sending talent to the NBA, players don't always have the best opportunity to showcase their individual skill set immediately with so much competition for minutes. Suns guard Eric Bledsoe found himself stuck behind John Wall at Kentucky and this may have negatively affected his draft stock (though Bledsoe has done well for himself since).

Still, Briscoe might be able to do more for his draft stock if he attends a school such as St. John's or Seton Hall, where he will have a free rein to show off his talents.

Tanksley Efianayi (G/F, 2015 - JUCO)

The junior college standout visited Central Florida (UCF) this weekend. There is some speculation that they could be the frontrunners since Efianayi played high school and now junior college basketball in Florida. The offers for Efianayi continue to increase as he has now received offers from St. John's, Arizona State, Florida State, UCF and other top programs.

St. John's has already met with the guard [profile], but there is no word on when he will make his decision.
