Meanwhile, the awards:
Your preseason All-Big East team
2014-15 Big East Preseason Player of the Year
D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera, Georgetown
Editor's note: is not having D`Angelo Harrison as preseason player of the year a snub? If you like points per game, Smith-Rivera actually scored MORE than D`Angelo Harrison (17.6 ppg vs Harrison's 17.5 ppg). And he's more efficient. Still, interesting choice.
Still, this is a good thing for St. John's fans: Harrison loves motivation.
Found new motivation that's not good for any teams!!

2014-15 Big East Preseason Rookie of the Year
Isaiah Whitehead, Seton Hall
Editor's note: no surprise there. Teammate Brandon Mobley said (to Jaden Daly of Daly Dose): "Offensively, he's about as good as any guard in the country. Skill-wise, he's ahead of just about every freshman and even some of the sophomores in this conference."
2014-15 Preseason All-Big East First Team
Kellen Dunham, Butler, G, Jr., 6-6, 185, Pendleton, Ind.
D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera, Georgetown, G, Jr., 6-3, 214, Indianapolis, Ind.
D'Angelo Harrison, St. John's, G, Sr., 6-4, 204, Missouri City, Texas
JayVaughn Pinkston, Villanova, F, Sr., 6-7, 235, Brooklyn, N.Y.
Matt Stainbrook, Xavier, C, Sr., 6-10, 270, Bay Village, Ohio
Editor's note - two players from Indiana on the first team? the Big East needs to step up its eastern recruiting.
2014-15 Preseason All-Big East Second Team
Billy Garrett, Jr., DePaul, G, So., 6-6, 205, Chicago, Ill.
LaDontae Henton, Providence, F, Sr., 6-6, 215, Lansing, Mich.
Rysheed Jordan, St. John's, G, So., 6-4, 185, Philadelphia, Pa.
Ryan Arcidiacono, Villanova, G, Jr., 6-3, 195, Langhorne, Pa.
Darrun Hilliard, Villanova, G, Sr., 6-6, Bethlehem, Pa.
Editor's note: Villanova people are cheesed that Darrun Hilliard isn't on the first team. A little surprised to see Billy Garrett, Jr., on the second team. Sterling Gibbs, Dee Davis, could have gotten some shine here.
2014-15 Preseason All-Big East Honorable Mention
Roosevelt Jones, Butler, G, Jr., 6-4, 227, O'Fallon, Ill.
Chris Obekpa, St. John's, C, Jr., 6-9, 240, Makurdi, Nigeria
Sterling Gibbs, Seton Hall, G, Jr., 6-2, 185, Scotch Plains, N.J.
Editor's note: Defense does not, apparently, get you on to an all-league team. Obekpa could be a second-team player.
